Vital Pruning

Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.

Master Vintner, you designed me with intrinsic interests, desires, and ambitions, and you empower and equip me with everything I need to make the most of them. Sometimes, though, I channel that energy in directions that are not productive or ultimately glorifying to you or your kingdom. When those pursuits are foiled, I get frustrated and downhearted. But your word reminds me that you prune away unfruitful branches so that I can concentrate on flourishing where it matters. Help me be grateful for the pruning you do in my life that I would be ever more connected to the root of your divine power. Thank you for wanting to work through me to produce good fruit. Amen.

John 15:2

He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
