Take a moment to refresh, refocus, and refine your faith.
Omnipotent God, help me remain aware of the fact that you do not exist for me, but for yourself. Your creation - including mankind - is an expression of who you are. You owe us nothing. Rather, we exist for your glory and edification. Your purpose is not to make our lives better or grant our requests. It is when we properly align ourselves with your will and come to love you that we experience soul-deep satisfaction, joy, and delight in serving you. Keep me humble, Lord, correcting my perspective when I begin falling into entitlement. Amen.
Joshua 5:13-14
Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?”
“Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lord have for his servant?”
